The Sennheiser EW-DX SKM-S (R1-9) is a professional digital handheld transmitter designed for high-performance live sound, broadcast, and corporate applications within the Evolution Wireless Digital family. Powered by Sennheiser’s proprietary Performance Audio Codec (SePAC), it delivers an impressive 134 dB input dynamic range, eliminating the need to manually set gain on the transmitter while preserving every detail of the audio signal. With a fixed 10 mW RF output power, it provides reliable wireless transmission up to 100 meters (328 feet), ensuring stable performance in demanding environments.

Built with a durable metal housing, the transmitter features a persistent E-Ink display that keeps essential parameters visible at all times - even when batteries are removed - allowing quick identification and configuration during setup changes. It supports up to 12 hours of operation using the BA 70 rechargeable lithium-ion battery (sold separately) and includes charging contacts for convenient in-device charging with the CHG 70N charger. Additional charging solutions such as the L 70 USB and LM 6070 module for the L 6000 rack charging station offer versatile power management options.

The EW-DX SKM-S provides extensive control directly from the handheld, including programmable mute switch options (AF Mute, RF Mute, or no function), digital audio trim, integrated test tone generator, switchable LED configuration, and adjustable low-cut filters (Off, 30, 60, 80, 100, or 120 Hz). Featuring the Sennheiser Standard Capsule Interface, it is compatible with a wide range of Sennheiser and Neumann capsules (sold separately), offering flexibility for various vocal applications. Designed for worldwide use - subject to local RF regulations - the transmitter integrates seamlessly with other Evolution Wireless Digital components, while users should note that certain features such as switching bandwidth and Link Density mode depend on the specific series configuration.
