The Shure MX412D/C is a premium 12-inch cardioid condenser gooseneck microphone designed for professional speech applications where clarity, reliability, and control are essential. As part of Shure’s respected Microflex® series, it is widely used in conference rooms, courtrooms, houses of worship, government facilities, and broadcast environments. The microphone is engineered to deliver natural, intelligible voice reproduction while maintaining a sleek and professional appearance suitable for permanent installations or desktop use.
The MX412D/C features a cardioid polar pattern that focuses on the speaker’s voice while effectively reducing background noise and minimizing feedback. With a frequency response of 50 Hz to 17 kHz, it captures speech with excellent clarity and detail. It can handle sound pressure levels up to 124.2 dB at 1 kHz (1% THD, 1 kΩ load), allowing it to accommodate louder speech without distortion. The microphone has an output impedance of 180 ohms, ensuring compatibility with most professional audio systems, and operates on 11 to 52 V DC phantom power with a low current consumption of 2.0 mA. A standard 3-pin XLR connector provides secure and reliable connectivity.
This model includes a desktop base with an attached 10-foot cable, making it ready for immediate tabletop deployment, while also remaining compatible with optional locking flange mounts for permanent installations. It features a programmable on/off switch with an LED indicator for clear status visibility. Logic input and output terminals allow integration with automatic microphone mixers and remote control systems, enhancing its functionality in advanced installations. A snap-fit foam windscreen helps reduce plosive sounds, and the integrated shock mount provides more than 20 dB of isolation from surface vibration noise. Additionally, its balanced, transformerless output increases immunity to electromagnetic hum and RF interference over long cable runs, ensuring clean and stable audio performance in professional environments.
